NL Voor deze tentoonstelling toont Marina Pinsky een videowerk dat ons inkijk geeft in de manier van waarop we met onze stad omgaan. Zoals de bezoeker door het stedelijk weefsel van Kortrijk zal wandelen, vinden de handen in de video een weg door het het stedelijk weefsel in de vorm van een bronzen maquette. Marina Pinsky onderzoekt de manier waarop we beelden kunnen lezen als materiële, ruimtelijke en ideologische modellen van de wereld. Met behulp van fotografie en ontwaart ze representatiecodes. Pinsky combineert digitale en analoge technieken, waardoor een link tussen virtuele en fysieke werelden ontstaat.
Haar werk is getoond in prestigieuze instellingen, waaronder de Vleeshal, Middelburg, Nederland; het Museum voor Moderne Kunst, New York; Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; en de Nationale Galerie van Kosovo. Haar werk was opgenomen in de 13e Biënnale van Lyon in 2015, terwijl 'Dyed Channel', een solopresentatie, in 2016 opende in Kunsthalle Basel. Pinsky, geboren in Rusland, woont en werkt momenteel in Berlijn.
EN For this exhibition, Marina Pinsky is showing a video work about the way we interact with our city. Just as the visitor will walk through the urban fabric of Kortrijk, the hands in the video find their way through the urban fabric in the form of a bronze model. Marina Pinsky investigates the way in which we can read images as material, spatial and ideological models of the world. Using photography to disentangle and reconstruct representation codes. Pinsky combines digital and analog techniques, creating a relational mode between virtual and physical worlds.
